Support Danica's Recovery After Tragic Accident

On a day like any other, Danica's life took a devastating turn. While crossing the road at Burtch and Hwy 97, she was struck by a truck and rushed to the hospital, where she remains in the ICU. Though the road to recovery will be long, doctors are optimistic that she will make a full recovery. However, the timeline for her to return to the life she loves remains uncertain.

Danica has been an integral part of our Childhood Connections team for 1.5 years, working as an experienced and passionate Early Childhood Educator (ECE). Her commitment to the care and well-being of the children in our Drop-In Childcare program is nothing short of incredible. Danica’s ability to make every child feel seen, included, and valued is truly inspiring. She’s a big reason why our daycare was recognized as the Best Daycare in Kelowna in 2024, and we know how much her presence brightens the lives of the children and families we serve.

Beyond her role as an exceptional educator, Danica is a multi-talented individual. Many of you may recognize her as a talented artist and singer, performing across Kelowna in various shows. She's also a skilled volleyball player, always bringing the same dedication and spirit to the court as she does to the classroom. To know Danica is to love her—a hardworking, committed friend, sister, auntie, and daughter who didn’t deserve for this tragedy to happen. She’s one of the genuinely good people in this world.

As the Childcare Services Manager at Childhood Connections, I, Karli Sanderson, have created this Go Fund Me on behalf of Danica.
