Support Danielle Cowley's battle against AML

Hi, my name is Amber, and I'm fundraising for my beautiful, courageous, amazingly driven sister Danielle and her family. Danielle was diagnosed with AML on May 18th. The journey has been a rough road with multiple stays in the hospital. This fundraiser would help provide support with travel expenses, daycare, and expenses not covered by health insurance.

Let me tell you a little about her journey so far. Danielle is a college professor at Alfred University in New York, where she teaches Literacy and Special Education. She attended the college's commencement ceremony and then was admitted to Strong Memorial hospital for a 42-day hospital stay. Danielle had a scary allergic reaction to an anti-nausea medication during that stay, which has been resolved. In total, she has undergone three rounds of induction therapy in the hopes of getting the remaining cancer cells down to zero.

In July, Danielle got to spend much-needed time with her two children and husband at home. Unfortunately, during a scheduled return visit to Stong Memorial hospital, what was expected to be five days inpatient stay turned into 22 days. Danielle's port became infected, which led to a brain infection that landed her in the ICU for almost 3 weeks.

Good news! Danielle was released from the hospital on August 17th and is regaining her strength day by day to continue her treatment and hopefully prepare for a bone marrow transplant. These complications have been a roller coaster ride for Danielle and her family. Please help support Danielle's battle to kick cancer's butt !
