Support Danielle Tafoya's Journey to Sobriety

Donation protected
My name is Danielle Tafoya and I am very hesitant to have even stepped way out of my comfort zone to have even had the heart to ask for help. My options are to the point where they have become very limited, so please allow me a few moments of your time in hopes that if you or someone you know has ever suffered from the disgusting disease of addiction, this touches your heart.

For starters, my entire life, from as far as I can remember growing up, money had always been a barrier in my life and in my current situation that I am working so hard to come up out of. As some may know, I had a very close call on my birthday of June 17th. I sadly had an overdose that I'm very lucky to have come up out of. I nearly died and was taken into the hospital via ambulance. As I'm being brought back to life in ICU, my very first thought was my children and how cowardly and selfish I would have gone out. From that moment, for the first time in my 10-year addiction to opioids, I decided that time is the one thing that could never be retrieved, and it was time for me to make a change.

On June 18th, I entered treatment. Throughout the duration of that time, I successfully completed not only one treatment facility but found myself hungry for more, so I then completed Hazelbrook's TSZ program. Present day, I am now 90 days and counting sober, as well as newly employed. I have moved into a sober living facility through Hazelbrook and am having issues finding scholarships/grants. Changing my life meant not only did I need to get sober and continue to change within, but people, places, and things had to go as well. I made a huge decision and moved to Aurora, which, as some may know, is very far from home, and I am alone.

I am a few short days away from rent being due within my sober home and am not in a position to get any funding elsewhere nor do I know anyone up here. Any donations would be greatly appreciated, and just know that you are helping to continue making a change in my life. I have never in my life needed help as much as I do right now. If not a donation, please send a prayer for my strength to continue fighting and pushing forward. I am newly employed, which means payday is still a few weeks away, so that everyone knows that I am doing so much to help myself first prior to reaching out!
