Help Danielle in the Fight Against Breast Implant Illness

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

I’m reaching out to share my ongoing battle with Breast Implant Illness (BII), a condition that has taken a serious toll on my health and well-being. Since learning that I have the rare BRCA1 gene and getting a double mastectomy with reconstruction in the spring of 2023, I’ve been struggling with debilitating symptoms like chronic fatigue, pain, multiple implant infections that have resulted in hospitalizations, and neurological issues—symptoms that have affected every part of my life.

After many doctor visits and tests, I’ve learned that my breast implants are likely the source of these current health issues. I’ve made the difficult decision to undergo a breast implant removal surgery, a necessary step in my journey toward healing and recovery.

However, the financial/emotinal burden of the surgery, medical expenses, and post-op care is overwhelming, and I’m asking for your support during this challenging time.

I am financially flying solo through this and every donation, no matter how small, will help cover the cost of my medical debt, monthly bills while I am out of work, travel expenses to see my out-of-state surgeon, and recovery care. If you can’t donate, sharing this page with your network would mean so much to me as well.

I am so proud of the journey I have chosen to take my chances of breast cancer from 87% to 5% and am still planning on getting a salpingectomy ( a surgery to remove my fallopian tubes) to lower my chances of getting ovarian cancer.

I have not gotten this far on my own and am eternally thankful for the community I have been blessed with. This is not the life lesson I would have signed up for but HOLY HECK, I have been humbled to my core by what it means to ask for help.

Also, shout out to trans people on leading the way for what it means to reclaim your own body in the pursuit of living your most fabulous life❤️✨

I am currently on unpaid FMLA while navigating BII and am waiting to get the implant removal surgery cleared with my insurance so I will be able to plan for a surgery date. When I know the date, I will also put up a meal train link for the 3 weeks that I will be healing at home. Till then, I will be making homemade Golden Milk and would love to share a toasty mug with any of y’all

Warmly,
