Support Daniel's Fight Against Stage IV Cancer

Daniel was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma in June 2023. He had chemo and radiation and in February of 2024 he had a large tumor removed from his left calf. The first skin graft failed and he had to undergo hyperbaric treatments daily. Then he had a second skin graft which was successful in May 2024. Afterwards he had additional hyperbaric treatments. In August of 2024 another tumor was discovered in his left thigh, as this one was relatively small they were able to remove it with no need for additional treatments or skin grafts. Since the cancer had metastasized he was officially diagnosed as stage IV. In November of 2024 he ended up hospitalized due to an infection that had developed at the removal site on his thigh. Doctor went in to remove the abscess they discovered a third tumor which had to be removed in addition to some cancer cells that have not developed into a tumor yet. His team of oncologists consulted with a specialist at Vanderbilt and decided another round of chemo is needed but first an additional surgery would need to take place to remove a large pocket of infection in his stomach. We have been working with a trauma surgeon to get approval but the insurance company has fought us since November.  Last week he was hospitalized again for an additional infection at the wound site. He is not replenishing his own blood supply which caused his hemoglobin levels to be significantly lower than normal. He received several transfusions and will need iron infusions moving forward. He finally received approval for surgery and it scheduled for Friday February 7th. After he is healed he will begin chemo treatments.
