Support Daniel's Heart Journey to Recovery

Hello, my name is Alyssa Mendoza and my family has been struggling a great deal right now.
At the start of August, my husband, Daniel, ended up in the hospital almost on death’s door due to a severely weakened heart. He was in the early stages of heart failure with his heart only working at 25% alongside severe fluid build up. We were bluntly told if he’d waited another week, he’d probably be dead. My husband, aged 34, is actively having to apply for disability; but we've been told it will take almost a year to hear anything back about that.
After being discharged, we learned that my husband has a medical condition called Constrictive Pericarditis. A condition that is exceedingly rare and prevents his already weakened heart from properly expanding. It's a condition that will require open heart surgery to mend.
We are actively struggling right now. With my husband unable to work, the only ones working are myself and my brother in law. Combined, we barely have enough to make rent and provide for our ten year old son. We are both actively searching for a second job to lessen the bills that have already started to pile up in only this last month alone.
We’ve been trying our best to get by without asking for any assistance. But lately, it's been just one thing after another piled on yet more bad news. It feels like we are just barely making it. Loan applications denied, job applications left unresponded to or just plain declined; we’ve had to sell multiple personal items just in our attempts. But now we’ve come to the conclusion we have to ask for some manner of help.
If you are willing to offer anything in assistance in our family’s time of need, you would have our utmost gratitude and thanks.
