Support Danny's Fight Against Rare Cancer
Donation protected
Friends and Family,
On October 28, Danny (40yrs) went to the ER at Paoli Hospital with severe abdominal and back pain that suddenly worsened. After an ultrasound and CT scan, doctors found masses on his liver and pancreas, which led to his admission. Over the following days, he underwent an MRI and a specialized procedure to obtain a liver biopsy for a clearer diagnosis.
On November 1, we received difficult news: Danny has been diagnosed with a stage 4 rare bile duct cancer that affects only about 8,000 people in the U.S. each year. His bilirubin levels were elevated, which prompted the doctors to place a drain in his liver to help manage this and prepare him for treatment. They've also placed a port in his chest to make chemotherapy more manageable once he begins.
Despite everything, Danny’s spirits remain high, and he’s comfortable with his pain under control. His family and close friends have been by his side every day, providing strength and support during this challenging time.
Many of you know Danny through his work coaching with the local high school baseball teams - his passion has always been coaching his son Luca as well as helping to develop youth baseball players to reach their full potential. He is also a member of Opera Delaware. If you have had the pleasure of hearing Danny sing- you know all the feels :-)
With treatment starting right away, Danny will not be able to work and with a freshman in college and medical bills, any support and prayers are greatly appreciated. A caring bridge page has been started to keep family and friends up to date on Danny's treatment.
