My dear friend Heather Magdaz’s partner David Pawson started experiencing groin pain in July 2023. He went to the walk-in clinic several times and he was told that he had a urinary tract infection. He continued to have intense pain and finally he went to the ER where they performed a CT scan and an ultrasound. It was then, that Dr. William Tinmouthe found that he had an 8cm tumor in his bladder. When the tests came back, they found that the tumor was cancerous. In October 2023, David had his bladder removed, and he was sent home to recover. A few weeks after the surgery, he started feeling groin pain again, but this time he was building up fluid. After many visits to the emergency hospital, he was told just before Christmas that the cancer had spread all over his body. He has had chemo and radiation, but he is now under hospice care. David has a 22 year old son, Callum Pawson who has been by his side, along with his mom Elizabeth Russell. Heather and David are experiencing financial hardship with having unforeseen medical expenses. David is self employed and has not been able to work since the end of summer. The donations from this GoFundMe will be used for medical expenses, end of life expenses, and to help those that are left behind.
