Dave's Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
Dave Bunt was diagnosed with STAGE 3b MELANOMA CANCER in late December 2017 after a biopsy was done on a mole he had removed. He has begun a long road of imunno-therapy, sickness, and stacks on stacks of medical bills ~Dude needs some help!
Imunno-therapy is a type of chemo that boosts your immune system allowing your body to advance on the cancer. However, the downside is your system attacks itself through auto immune diseases like hepatitis, kidney and thyroid failure, as well as a long list of fatigue and weakness-like systems, and of course the dreadful 'chemobrain' (just to name a few).
Originally Dave's incredible doctors put him on a 1 year, 22 infusion regiment. Unfortunately, his body took a forbidding toll after the first infusion resulting in harsh damage to his liver and kidneys, and a permanent 'burned' out thyroid. Not to mention a 3 day hospital stay in Durango, a 3 month halt to his medication program, and nearly every reaction known to be caused by his specific imunno drugs - minor to severe! He is back on 'schedule' with his medications, but symptoms still remain.
Dave was on the fast track to becoming a Certified Public Accountant after years of chasing his dreams of eternal freeskiing and mountain biking, but is unable to continue his schooling or any type of work to support himself due to the intense effects of his medications.
After cashing in bonds, IRA's, savings and checking accounts, and help from close family Dave had enough funds to support himself for the first six months, but is now in need of additional financial backing until he is capable to join the workforce again.
NOW, here's where your generosity will be put to use:
-Medical expenses such as insurance premiums, deductible, medications, travel (UCHealth Anschutz, Denver), acupuncture, supplements, therapies
-Normal people expenses including housing and utilities, auto related costs, dog food, cell phone, human food etc
-Relieving pressures from close family members who are extended to their financial limit
-And maybe a new pair of sneakers and a camping trip here and there...
Every donation, whether big or small, is greatly appreciated. And if you can't donate, give him or his family members a call and tell them you're thinking of them. Dave can't do it by himself so let's do all we can to help get this guy back on track to normalcy and most importantly good health!
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
