Support David’s Eagle Scout Project for Young Patients

Donation protected
I’m David Clark, a fifteen-year-old Boy Scout in Palo Alto’s Troop 57. For my community service leadership project to become an Eagle Scout, I will lead a community project to create 100 IV Lily Pads for Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford University.

Drawing from my own experiences, my idea is to help young patients have an easier time by reducing some fear and anxiety during infusion treatments with a more pleasant environment. These kids have so much to deal with, such as cancer or other chronic conditions, and they shouldn’t have to be stressed out by their medical treatment.

An IV lily pad is a platform decorated with kid-friendly art placed at the base of an IV pole to make the experience of receiving an infusion treatment less challenging and stressful for young patients. Young patients can sit, stand, or enjoy the lily pad platform while undergoing these infusions.

I have collaborated with multiple teams at Stanford Children’s Hospital on this project. The teams are super excited and supportive of my IV lily pad idea, and agreed that these IV lily pads will be a wonderful addition to patient care, providing both functionality and a way to brighten the the kids' moods.

My goal is to raise $9,000 to offset the cost of project materials, including the custom-cut plywood platforms, the base paint, the decorating paint, paint supplies, and the sealant. Your contribution, no matter the amount, will truly make a difference for these patients fighting cancer or chronic diseases. Together, we can provide cheerful support to young patients, brighten their moods, and make their experience less stressful during their infusion treatment.

Please note that any money raised that is not used on the lily pad project will go directly to the Lucile Packard Foundation to help more children at the hospital.

Thank you for your support!
