My Name is David Harden, I am 27yrs old, small town of Marshall no job and no car currently in debt to my landlord and living in an apt building with no lights on. I have to go to a friend's house or library to charge my phone or laptop.
A vary close friend encouraged me to start a go fund me page other than giving up. as they saw a video i made on TikTok about the situation i am going through.
I am current living in a one bedroom apt paying 475 a month.
Before i moved into the apt i was working for a dealership called Kruse Motors as detailing cars that would come through. The time that I was working there it was all good until they started to demand we push cars out faster for little pay (use to be per car I heard) and only getting paid 15 or more n hour was not enough.
i took what i learned and I chose to start a small detailing biz on the side during summertime thinking I would get a lot of money or a lot of customers but not knowing much about marketing and a lot of other stuff to put my name out there to get more biz. the goal was to get a car from detailing and get my own place to start this dream. It was a good and bad idea to go into something with not enough money and not much knowledge of the biz, but I still got my name out there. I did fall more behind on rent, and I paid what I could after every job, but it wasn't enough since other bills still needed to be paid as well. I was a vision of a dream and I stuck to it.
During the wintertime I couldn't detail because it was cold outside and by that time, we didn't reach the goals we had in mind due to money going to rent and unable to save any.
During the winter months I did end up finding a job working with elderly people who have dementia. First time ever being in the line of work, and it is not for everyone, some of the thing made me uncomfortable and I know that part of the job, but it was getting to be too much.
After quitting my job working with elderly people I started to get more and more behind and started to care less and less about the condition of the apt such as not cleaning dish's or even cleaning the bathroom or a clean kitchen. I kept looking for work and jobs around my town and i really wanted to work for Kwik trip, but I couldn't at the time since a relative was working there for a manger position. (tried many times to get hired by them). For the entire winter i did not have a job only what little money I gave to the landlord from working the job before.
A month back I did get hired by my old job at Aldi but that quickly turned against me due to events during the training days such as not getting gas money for milage, the car I barrowed not turning on and the job wanting me to walk threw a thunderstorm to get to work and risk my health.
As of right now I am still in debt to the landlord for 5k and no lights. if I don't get anything to them, I will have to be looking for a new place/ move out by the end of the month. I have been looking everywhere for a job and filled out many applications and have just been waiting to hear back.
I have also gone through a company that helps people called UCAP and I am waiting to hear from them, but they might be able to due to how much I am behind
if you made it this far thank you for reading my story. To hear more about it please go to my TikTok @nodavid25
The money i would use it to find another place to rent or payback my landlord and pay off my light bill. The best bet might be to find another place to live. The landlord and i are both waiting to hear from UCAP
