Support David Smith's Dignified Farewell

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers, It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved David Smith aka Duck. He was a cherished sibling who brought so much love and light into our lives. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

As we come to terms with David's passing, we are faced with the difficult task of arranging his final farewell. Due to his long term of incarceration, we were unable to obtain a life insurance policy for him. David was solely dependent upon our mother, who passed away three years ago, leaving David to become my responsibility. In 2022, a tragedy occurred with the unexpected passing of my younger son. This whole experience has been very traumatic for our entire family. David was diagnosed with cancer only three months ago. He informed me of his health condition by phone. I have reached out to the prison with endless attempts to get him the care that he needed. With all failed attempts, no one returned any of my phone calls or emails. Unfortunately, the warden of the prison finally called on Monday 11/18/24 to inform us that David was transferred to the local hospital and there was nothing else they could do for him. Our hearts are crushed. We want to give him the dignified and heartfelt send-off he truly deserves, but unfortunately, the financial burden of funeral expenses is overwhelming for our family during this already challenging time.

We are reaching out to our community for support in honoring David's memory. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help alleviate the financial strain and allow us to focus on grieving and remembering him fondly.

Funds raised will go towards the funeral service, burial costs, and memorial arrangements. Your generosity will make a meaningful difference in ensuring that David is laid to rest with the dignity and respect he

deserve.
