Support DMV artists during the coronavirus crisis!
Donation protected
Independent artists in the DMV are losing gigs that they depend on for income due to the coronavirus outbreak. The Love + Solidarity Collective, DC's oldest artist/activist collective, is raising funds to support them and to keep our collective going in a difficult time.
We'll be hosting a series of livestreamed performances for people to watch and donate to support the artists. We're hoping this can provide much-needed income to artists struggling during this time, and will help people in the audience feel connected and close the gaps of social distancing. We also hope it can help support our collective as a space for DMV artists-- 5 of our 9 collective members have lost their income due to coronavirus, and we're hoping to use this as a way to support ourselves to keep up our 40+ year legacy as a nurturing space for artists and activists in DC.
We need to raise $125 per artist, which we'll split $100 to the artist and $25 to support the LSC's work and our collective members. Please donate generously whatever you can; GoFundMe takes a 3% fee, so an extra dollar is always helpful :)
Art is a powerful way to support all of our mental and emotional health, and we need it now more than ever. Help support our DMV artists and the Love + Solidarity Collective to keep the creativity alive!
