Support DeAndre Matthews' Family on His Birthday!

Tuesday, June 27th, 2023 would have been DeAndre Matthews' 20th birthday if he was still with us. This past February, DeAndre Matthews, a 19-year-old young Black gay man, was a victim of a brutal hate crime as he was coming home from work in Brooklyn, NY. Community members and organizers have rallied around the family to not only get answers on what happened to DeAndre, but also to support his family through their grief. No parent expects to bury their child, and we know it can be a financial burden if they do. Please help DeAndre's mother Danielle Matthews in relieving some of the continued financial burden following his horrific passing. While this will not bring DeAndre back, it will provide support for the family as they continue to grieve and uplift his name.
