Support Death's Dice: A Student Thesis Film
Donation protected
Hey! My name is Joseph Genua. I'm a screenwriter, director, and graduate student only a few months away from achieving an M.F.A. in Film & Television Production. I have a handful of official short films under my belt, one of which has achieved laurels ('I'm With You'), and another currently in post-production ('Good Boy') coming soon.
Next month, I will be filming my thesis project, 'Death's Dice'-- a thriller short film following Billy, a down on his luck father, stuck in his motel room trying to save his straining relationship with his daughter, stay one step ahead of the cops, and devise a plan to beat a notorious crime lord known as The Goblin before a fate worse than death arrives-- playing Death's Dice.
As pre-production slowly ends, a good chunk of the film has already been funded. However, there are still many moving parts that can use your support. I want to film something that feels inspiring and holds real stakes. With your help, your donation will go straight towards supporting:
Actors
Crew
Location Fees
Catering
Prosthetics/Make-Up
Props
Set Design
Post Production (Coloring, Sound Design, VFX)
I understand not everybody has money to give away. Even something small such as sharing this post or talking about this film means a ton. For those of you that do donate, know it will not go unappreciated. By donating, you also get your name in lights along with the rest of the hardworking cast and crew in our credits. The tiers go as follows:
Thanks - $1+
Special Thanks - $25+
Associate Producer - $100+
Executive Producer - $250+
Co-Producer - $500+
It's impossible to make a movie on your own, which is why no one ever should. This project means a ton to me, and I'm very grateful for the people already supporting me and gearing up to start shooting in a month. I hope this paves the way for bigger and better projects for all of us. My education, experience, close friends and crew have all led to this. I feel confident in bringing this story to life given everything I've learned since, and I can't wait to share this with you.
I will be posting updates regarding this project on my Instagram - @josephgenua as production continues. I'd like to thank everyone who's spent the time reading this, and I look forward to sharing my story with you. Thank you for all your help.
