Support Debbie Millar's Stroke Recovery

Donation protected

On the morning of Tuesday, December 8th, 2020, my best friend of 38 years Debbie Millar woke up to find she had suffered a stroke in her sleep.

Debbie was taken to RIH by ambulance where she remains and will stay for the next month, maybe longer. The stroke affected the right side of her brain causing the left side of her body to become partially paralyzed. The doctors think she stands a very good chance at making a full recovery…. but it will be a long process.

Debbie is receiving rehabilitation therapy and starts her long recovery process of physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. She remains herself, very positive and upbeat, joking around… but deep down I know she is afraid. She works as a server at a local pub with no benefits and is now unable to work for an undetermined length of time.

Most who know Debbie, know that her husband Kevin recently recovered from a terrible motorcycle accident in 2017. As a result, he was unable to work for the past 2 1/2 years. Kevin is just finishing up a small contract that will be complete the end of this week and then he will be without work again. Christmas is a tough financial time for everyone, so please know that whatever you can donate would be greatly appreciated. If you know anyone that needs a Safety Trainer/Advisor in the Oil and Gas Sector… Kevin Millar could use a job!

Due to Covid, Deb is at the hospital alone. Only essential visitors are allowed, not husband Kevin, her kids or grandkids. Flowers are also unable to be accepted at this time.

This Go Fund Me account is set up to assist Debbie with covering any medical bills, prescriptions and any other necessary financial obligations she may have. Every dollar donated will go towards alleviating her burdens so she can focus on her therapy.

Thank you for taking the time to read this Go Fund Me, please help me help my best friend stay positive and leave a nice or funny message with your donation so she can read it and smile.

Thank you, thank you, thank you in advance from the bottom of my heart for any donations to Debbie’s stroke recovery.

Sincerely, Deb and Kevin’s friend “Jack”
