Support for Debora Moore in honor of Benny
We are all deeply saddened by the recent loss of our friend, Benjamin Moore. Benny was a husband, father, artist, mentor, teacher, and more who touched the lives of so many. Benny is survived by his wife, Debora Moore, and their daughter, Jasmyn, and we all extend our sincerest condolences for their immense loss.
Benny was one of the most influential artists in 20th century American glass. He played a seminal role in the studio glass movement with his collaborative nature, and by inviting Italian and Scandinavian artists to teach at Pilchuck Glass School where he served in numerous roles, including Head of Education and Interim Director. His Seattle studio, Benjamin Moore, Inc., became an important studio for artists to work and learn, where they found mentorship and friendship, and where they were guided by Benny’s gentlemanly, cooperative spirit.
As he touched so many lives, we want to honor Benny’s memory and assist Debora in any way we all can. We have created a fundraiser to help Debora during this difficult time. Please consider donating, as any amount will be helpful as a tribute to Benny’s legacy and to aid Debora as she and Jasmyn privately grieve.
Thank you for your consideration and for helping us remember this titan of our community.
