Support Deborah's Journey to Recovery

Hello everyone,

My name is Travis, and I'm reaching out to you on behalf of my wife, Deborah. Deborah is a dedicated and gifted esthetician and energy worker, loving wife, and wonderful mother to all. In the summer of last year, Deborah sought some treatment for menopause symptoms, and in the course of preparing for hormone therapy, it was discovered that she had a lump in her left breast. The doctors reassured her that it was probably nothing to worry about, and scheduled a biopsy. Needless to say, it was a stressful month. But when the results came in, it was good news. Irregular cells were found, but not cancerous. Our relief was palpable.

Since then, it has been battle to get the medical attention she needs. Insurance muck-ups and lost referrals. Finally, her surgery to remove the lump from her breast has been approved by insurance. While this news is a relief, it also brings a new set of challenges, particularly financial ones.

In September 2023, around the same time Deb’s biopsy results came back, I was laid off from the country club of which I was the chef. Thankfully, I’ve found work this March. The recent writer's strike in California has significantly impacted Deborah's business as an esthetician. With fewer bookings and overall reduced income, we're struggling to make ends meet. Even with insurance coverage, the medical bills are daunting, not to mention the loss of income during Deborah's month-long recovery period.
