Support Declan: Top Surgery Before Graduation

Hi! I'm Declan (he/they) and I'm hoping to get top surgery before I graduate this Spring.

I found a surgeon within a reasonable distance of my college who specializes in V-taper masculinizing techniques that further limit dysphoria. His office is holding a March surgery date for me (close to Spring Break so that it's possible for me to recover without missing too much class). I have enough savings to put down the deposit plus an additional portion of the surgery quote. However, he does not participate in insurance plans and the full quote (even with a generous discount) is steep.

I have worked a job on-campus all four years and multiple seasonal positions. I've worked internships and saved. However, I am a low-income Pell Grant student. For the last year since revealing my gender identity to family, I have been an independent student, meaning I have been solely responsible for supporting myself and funding my education through my last year of school. I cannot realistically afford all of the surgical fees on my own. I'm starting this GoFundMe in an effort to raise enough money to afford to go through with the surgery in March and be able to graduate looking like myself.

The rest of the quote will be due in mid February so I have to raise the funds in a short amount of time.

- $150 for a solo portrait session

- $175 total (can be split btwn pair) for 2 people to get both pair and solo pics

- $200 total (can be split among group members) for 2-8 people to get ONLY group pics together (no solos)

- $300 total (can be split among group members) for 2-8 people to get both group and solo pics

- $350 total (can be split among group members) for 9-12 people to get both group and solo pics
