Support Dee & Steve's Road to Recovery

Dee & Steve Bingenheimer are members of our American Legion Post 10 family. Dee is the chaplain for the American Legion Riders and Steve is the Vice Director. They are both pastors in their own right and have done much to help their fellow parishioners, family, and friends. They are both retired and live on a fixed income. Riding together was what they enjoyed doing almost as much as spending time with their grandkids. Dee survived a near tragic motorcycle accident years ago and had just started riding again this past year.

On June 2, 2024, as they were crossing the bridge between Albany and North Albany (Oregon), Dee's Can Am Spyder was hit, throwing her off and onto the pavement. She was pinned beneath the car that hit her. Due to the severity of her injuries, Dee was transported to a Portland hospital for surgery. She has a brain bleed, fractured pelvis, broken ribs, and there may be more.

Steve's motorcycle was knocked down causing road rash, bruising, and severe arm pain. He and the family are spending time with Dee as she awaits surgery which has been delayed due to her brain injury.

They have motorcycle insurance and between the two vehicles involved will likely have some of their extensive medical bills covered, along with the vehicles but there will be more that they will need help with financially. The American Legion is starting fundraisers to bring in what they can. If you can spare a little to help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and may God bless you.
