Help Me Bring My Dad to Safety
Hi everyone — this isn’t easy to share, but I’ve reached a point where I can’t keep waiting and hoping things will change on their own.
Since I was a sophomore in high school, I’ve been building my window-cleaning business from the ground up. Between classes, jobs, and long days in the sun, I’ve worked season after season to create something stable. But behind all of that effort has always been one deeper purpose: to bring my dad back.
When I was six years old, my dad brought me to the U.S. to give me a better future. Not long after, due to circumstances out of our control, he had to return to Haiti. He’s been stuck there ever since. And now, with the growing instability, violence, and fear that has consumed the country, every day he remains there feels like a countdown I can’t ignore.
I’m working to move him to the Bahamas — a safer place that can be a stepping stone toward a better life. Somewhere he can live and work without the constant fear of violence.
I’ve never been someone to ask for help. I’ve hustled for years, trying to shoulder this all on my own. But I’ve realized time isn’t on our side — and I can’t do this alone. That’s why I’m starting this GoFundMe. Not as a shortcut, but as a bridge. A way to get there faster. Every dollar will go directly to travel costs, visa fees, and the legal steps it takes to bring my dad to safety.
If you know me, you know I don’t take this lightly. I’ve spent years showing up for others, doing everything I can to build a future from the ground up. And now, I’m asking — if you’re able — to help me bring my father one step closer to that future too.
Whether it’s through a donation or simply sharing this page, thank you. From the bottom of my heart.
