Support Denise Stillwell's Road to Recovery

Greetings friends,

On September 9, 2024, while visiting her mother in Florida, our dear friend and colleague, Denise Stillwell, was involved in a multi-vehicle collision. Through no fault of her own, Denise sustained career-threatening injuries with two broken wrists, as well as residual side effects from the impact, which currently impair her balance.

Her right wrist is fractured, but with a splint and physical therapy it should heal normally. Her left wrist, however, is shattered on one side and fractured on the other. Repairing this will require two surgeries. She underwent her first surgery about 10 days ago in Florida. A big shout out to the incredible Dr. Matthew Butler, hand specialist at the Hospital for Special Surgery! The second surgery is scheduled to take place in November.

While we are all so thankful that Denise came out of this harrowing ordeal walking and talking, the recovery for the use of her hands will be arduous. She will need to travel for surgery and checkups with her doctor in Florida, as well as undergo a long period of outpatient and physical therapy at home in NJ.

Due to her medical needs, Denise will be out of work for several months. No income during what we all know are challenging times to begin with will be tough. Any assistance until she has her instrument(s) in her hands and under her chin again would help her immensely.
