My name is Denise Herrera Bello, and I am originally from the state of Veracruz, in Mexico. I write this fundraiser to share with all of you one of my biggest wishes, in hopes that you will support me in my journey. I am raising money for a plastic surgery, in order to fully be the woman that I know that I am, and I need all of your collaboration to make this happen. As an immigrant, it has been very difficult to secure the funding I need for this surgery, because insurance companies don't cover these kinds of surgeries or even sometimes our most basic needs. But I know that this wish of mine can be achieved. I know that each one of you has a big and generous heart, and I know that together in community we can make anything happen. So I ask you to support me in this step towards the future that I deserve.
I consider myself a fighter, I am honest and transparent, and I fight alongside those who really need to be given the strength of power. I am proud to be a part of the LGBTQ community, and I will always fight for my community. I am also a leader with United Renters For Justice, and I have seen first hand how people of color and trans folks are discriminated by landlords and rental companies. I am also proud to be a leader in the Sky Without Limits Cooperative, and now that we have won our homes and are finally safe from the threat of eviction, I am ready for this next step in my life. I have seen that when we organize together to fight for what we need, we can build a future that we didn't think was previously possible. That is why I am turning to my community again to support me in this next step. I know this will be possible together. I thank you for any support you can offer me, and I offer blessing to everyone in my community that has supported me in the past and continues to fight by my side.

Escribo esta recaudación de fondos para compartir con todos ustedes uno de mis mayores deseos, con la esperanza de que me apoyen en mi camino. Estoy recaudando dinero para una cirugía plástica, con el fin de ser la mujer completa que sé que soy, y necesito toda su colaboración para que esto suceda. Como inmigrante, ha sido muy difícil asegurar los fondos que necesito para esta cirugía, porque las compañías de seguros no cubren este tipo de cirugías o incluso a veces nuestras necesidades más básicas. Pero sé que este deseo mío se puede lograr. Sé que cada uno de ustedes tiene un corazón grande y generoso, y sé que juntxs en comunidad podemos hacer que cualquier cosa suceda. Por eso les pido que me apoyen en este paso hacia el futuro que merezco.
Me considero una luchadora, soy honesta y transparente, y lucho junto a lxs que realmente necesitan la fuerza del poder. Estoy orgullosa de ser parte de la comunidad LGBTQ y siempre lucharé por mi comunidad. También soy líder de Inquilinxs Unidxs Por Justicia y he visto de primera mano cómo las personas de color y las personas transgénero son discriminadas por los dueños y las empresas de renta. También estoy orgullosa de ser un líder en la Cooperativa Un Cielo Sin Limites, y ahora que hemos ganado nuestras casas y finalmente estamos a salvo de la amenaza de desalojo, estoy lista para dar el siguiente paso en mi vida. He visto que cuando nos organizamos juntxs para luchar por lo que necesitamos, podemos construir un futuro que antes no creíamos posible. Es por eso que me dirijo a mi comunidad nuevamente para apoyarme en este próximo paso. Sé que esto será posible juntxs.
