Support Denise's Recovery and Her Son's Future

Denise, a devoted mother and beloved dental hygienist experienced a life altering brain aneurysm with a subsequent brain hemorrhage in March 2024. While Denise’s recovery has shown great progress, it has been a challenging journey that has deeply affected her and her 11-year-old son. This campaign aims to support Denise’s continued recovery and to ensure that her son thrives during this tough time.

Denise has always been a shining light to her family and friends. As a single Mom, Denise balanced her career, her son’s activities, and her relationships with family and friends with remarkable energy and determination. In March 2024 Denise’s world changed overnight.

A sudden brain hemorrhage left Denise hospitalized and facing months of intensive therapy and rehabilitation both in hospitals and outside treatment centers. Her recovery from the repair of the aneurysm was further complicated by vasospasm of the vessels in her brain and meningitis. Due to the meningitis a frontal craniotomy was necessary to treat the brain abscess and placement of a shunt to stabilize cerebral spinal fluid in her brain. Several months later in July 2024 Denise developed septic shock from a urinary tract infection and had a grand mal seizure. In October 2024 Denise was hospitalized for treatment of a urinary tract infection and kidney stones. Though her determination to recover has been unwavering, the road ahead remains long. Uncovered medical expenses, therapy sessions, living costs, and the current impact on her ability to work have created significant financial strain.

Denise’s son is a bright, creative boy who loves art, playing the trumpet, video games and playing sports like basketball, baseball, and soccer. He has shown incredible resilience and maturity through this tough experience. Denise’s family is committed to ensuring he has every opportunity to grow, thrive and continue doing what he likes to do during his mom’s recovery. This campaign is as much about Denise’s son’s future as it is about her recovery.

Any funds raised will support Denise’s medical expenses, therapy sessions, living expenses, future follow-up treatments and any activities for her son to keep his routine and happiness going and family support regarding childcare, so Denise can focus on recovery.
