Help Send Denis to a World-Class Leadership Program in 2024

Donation protected
Hello everyone,
My name is Denis Mwangangi, a 19-year-old from Nairobi, Kenya. I'm raising £10,000 to join the prestigious Baret Scholars program, a life-changing opportunity to learn from global leaders and understand and seek solutions to global problems.

I've been accepted into the 2024-2025 cohort, a group of only 180 students worldwide – and just 25 from the entire African continent! This is a dream come true, a chance to gain the knowledge and network to create real impact in my community. But I need your help to make it a reality.

Growing up in a family of six, with my father as our sole provider, we often felt the weight of our modest means. Despite this, my parents instilled in me a passion for education and community empowerment. I've always held onto the adage that hard work pays, but the reality of my family's financial limitations threatens to dim my aspirations. This scholarship isn't just an opportunity; it's a lifeline to a future where I can not only uplift myself but also empower those around me.

The program tuition, travel, and living expenses total $94,500, and while I've received generous financial aid of $84,500, there's still a $10,000 gap that I need to bridge.

The raised funds will go directly towards covering the remaining program costs:
Tuition, Travel, Room and Board:
1. Initial Deposit: $1,693.12 due by July 22, 2024
2. First Tuition Installment: $1,693.12 due by July 31, 2024
3. Second Tuition Installment: $3,439.15 due by August 15, 2024
4. Travel, Room, and Board Fees:
$1,058.20 due by July 31, 2024
$1,058.20 due by August 15, 2024
$1,058.20 due by November 15, 2024

Insurance and vaccines : $700 (estimated)
While the program covers most travel costs, this will help with covering insurance costs and required travel vaccinations.

Flight costs and visa : $2,800.
This will assist in covering the flight cost and visa charges to the program at the start and during winter break and back home.

Total: $13,500

I am eager to see the world, gain knowledge, insight, and connections to bring back to Kenya. My vision is to use this experience to help my country address critical issues and foster positive change. As a future leader, I aim to leverage the education and networks from Baret Scholars to develop solutions that will empower my community.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. Your contribution will not only help me achieve my dreams but also enable me to become a catalyst for change in my country.
