Update: Dennis Goldsmith has passed away, support for family

We would like to share that a memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Dennis Goldsmith will be held on Sunday, May 4th at 1:00 PM at the Jewish Community Center of the North Shore, where Dennis has worked for over 25 years.

All who knew Dennis are warmly invited to join us in remembering his remarkable life and the positive impact he made on so many.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Dennis’s honor to Level Up Philly or YEAH Philly, organizations in the city he grew up in, aligned with his belief in investing in the lives and futures of young people.

This fundraiser was originally created to support Dennis during his recovery after surgery. With deep sorrow, we must share that Dennis is no longer with us - he passed away on Monday, April 14th, due to post-surgical complications. Family and friends are heartbroken by this loss and are grieving together during this difficult time. Thank you for your continued support, compassion, and for keeping Dennis and his loved ones in your thoughts.

Dennis Goldsmith has been more than a mentor and teacher - he has been a guiding force in the lives of so many. As a dedicated Tae Kwon Do and fitness instructor, he has shaped the minds and spirits of children and adults alike, instilling discipline, perseverance, and kindness. Now, he faces the greatest battle of his life, and he needs our support.

Last October, Dennis was diagnosed with cancer. Despite enduring grueling chemotherapy and immunotherapy, he now requires a critical surgery to remove his bladder and prostate. The procedure comes with months of recovery, leaving him unable to work and placing a heavy financial strain on his family. We are rallying together to help cover his medical expenses, daily living costs, and rehabilitative therapies, allowing him to focus entirely on healing.

For decades, Dennis has selflessly given to others. Now, it’s our turn to give back. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help lighten his burden. Even if you’re unable to donate, sharing this campaign can make an enormous impact.
