Support Dennis's fight against cancer!

Hi Everyone!
Beginning the summer of 2023, Dennis started complaining of rib pain. The pain would come and go for months, which he contributed to working on cars or getting older. By August, his pain was so bad that Dennis’ wife, Kerry, begged him to see a doctor and get the help he needed. A short time later Dennis was sent for several tests including a CT scan, blood work, and an MRI. Unfortunately, the news was not what they had hoped, showing abnormalities that would need to be urgently addressed.
In October, Dennis was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (MM). MM is a non-curable cancer found within your bone marrow. As anyone could imagine, this is devastating news, but with the support of his family and the guidance from his physicians, Dennis has decided to move forward with chemotherapy. This has caused Dennis to be out of work for an extended amount of time.
Dennis and Kerry met with a team at Stanford, where it was decided that a bone marrow transplant was his best option for a positive prognosis. This transplant is currently scheduled for April. Thankfully, doctors feel confident that they will be able to use Dennis’ own cells! This means he doesn’t have to wait for a bone marrow donor. This is GREAT news as bone marrow donors are hard to find.
After the chemotherapy and bone marrow transplant is complete, Dennis will still have a long road to recovery. His immune system will be completely depleted of any and all beneficial immunizations and antibodies he previously had, meaning his chance for infection is extremely high. During this time, Dennis and Kerry will need to provide a secondary residence close to Stanford for a minimum of 30 days. Sadly, this also means Kerry and the kids will not be able to see Dennis for the duration of recovery.
Finances will be extremely tight during this time. All funds will go directly to Dennis and Kerry. Your contributions will help pay for housing, any non-covered treatments, and help with general living expenses while Dennis will be out of work recovering.
Though Dennis will have to live with this diagnosis for the rest of his life, this is not the end of his story. I ask you kindly, please consider donating to this fund in order to help out this humble and deserving family.
Thank you to all family, friends, neighbors, and strangers who have taken time to read his story.
With appreciation,
