It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I must inform you all that Deputy Brandon Parker with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office was killed in an off-duty accident while operating a side-by-side all-terrain vehicle around 2:45 am on October 26, 2024, off Pondfield Road in Gaffney, SC.
Deputy Parker first started his career at the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office in June of 2018 and left for another agency in September of 2019. After a few years, he returned asking for his deputy position back because he wanted to make a difference working in Cherokee County, and he certainly made good on that promise every day he reported for duty when he returned to employment on October 6, 2022, with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. He was assigned to the Uniform Patrol Division. Deputy Parker was selected as a canine handler and was assigned to the Uniform Patrol Division with K-9 Kilo.
Deputy Parker's immediate family and his extended family here at the Sheriff’s Office have experienced an unimaginable tragedy with the loss of life of Deputy Parker. We are grieving and mourning along with his family and friends as we process this unimaginable tragedy. Deputy Parker was 28 years old and had two sons, a 3-year-old and a 10-year-old.
The men and women of the Sheriff's Office wish to establish a 529 College Savings Plan or similar investment to meet the kids' education needs in the future. We respectfully ask that you consider giving to this worthy cause to help meet the future educational needs of his two kids.
Our men and women in the Sheriff's Office will continue to serve our community with broken hearts but a spirit and determination to carry on the work ethic that Deputy Brandon Parker exemplified while serving the citizens of Cherokee County! We are Team Cherokee, and we will persevere with God’s GRACE!
