Support Deputy Sheriff injured in the line of duty

Tax deductible
On Thursday January 11, 2024 Loudoun County Deputy Jeremy Krapfl and another Unit were responding a motor vehicle accident. While enroute, a car traveling in the opposite direction lost control due to the winter weather, crossed the center line of the road and struck Deputy Krapfl while on his motorcycle. Both deputies were transported to a local hospital. The second Deputy fortunately escaped the accident with minor injuries, while Deputy Krapfl took the brunt of the accident. Deputy Krapfl is now hospitalized with various broken bones and other internal injuries that will take a while to heal.
While workers comp will cover the basic hospital costs and Jeremy's base salary, there are other expenses that will be incurred during his recovery. This includes his wife needing to take time off from work to attend to Jeremy, daily travel expenses and food while at the hospital. It is unknown what modifications may need to be made to Jeremy and Dawn's house once he is released from the hospital to recover at home.
