Support Desmond's Recovery Journey

On the morning of 3/27/2025, Desmond was pulling into the parking lot of his job at Hobby Lobby when he was rear-ended by a reckless driver and then t-boned by another vehicle. Desmond was unable to get out of his car on his own, and another driver bravely helped to get him out. EMS arrived and he was transported to the OU Medical Center Trauma ICU. Currently, Desmond has no feeling from the shoulders down and the doctors have him in surgical traction to keep his head, neck and spine in alignment. He was supposed to go to surgery yesterday to stabilize his spine however his blood pressure was unstable and they couldn't take him. We hope that he will go tonight.

Desmond is in good spirits and surrounded by his amazing family, friends, and girlfriend. However, he could use a lot of prayer. The doctors are saying we may not know how much function Desmond will get back for up to a year, but have recommended several specialized rehabilitation hospitals for him to begin his journey to a full recovery. All of these facilities are out of state; Texas, Colorado, Illinois and the out-of-pocket expense will be high. Although insurance will cover most of it, the air transportation there, lodging for us to stay with him, time away from work, etc. will add up quickly and we need help.

Never in my life did I think I would have to ask for help, but there is nothing I wouldn't do for my "Superman".
