Support Devin Bateman and His Family

Donation protected
On April 17, 2022, Easter Sunday, Devin Bateman, an 18-year-old college student at Washington and Lee University, a member of the swim team and Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, was just beginning his vacation in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

He decided to go for a swim in the ocean, dove into the water, hit his head, and could not move. He was immediately airlifted to Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL and underwent emergency surgery involving his C5 vertebrae. Since that time, he has undergone additional surgery and procedure. As a result, he has been diagnosed with C5 spinal cord injury and presently does not have the use of his legs. Devin will be undergoing rehabilitation at the Sheppard Center, a spinal rehabilitation facility in Atlanta, Georgia, for 7 to 8 weeks before being able to return to his home. This facility will provide him with the best rehabilitative medicine to help him recover.

This fundraiser will help lessen the stress of any medical bills or financial struggles that Devin and his family will face along the way. In addition to any home modifications that will be required during his recovery.

Devin Bateman is a loving son, a wonderful brother, a true friend and a loyal teammate. He is an amazing young man and loved by many.

Please keep Devin, his parents, siblings and extended family in your thoughts and prayers in the months to come.

May God bless you for all your support.
