Support Diana Lewis's Cancer Journey
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jason. I started this fundraiser to help my fantastic cousin, Diana Lewis. Diana recently had a hysterectomy to remove a fibroid tumor.
After the procedure, the surgeon discovered the tumor contained a 6-inch-long leiomyosarcoma (LMS), a rare and very aggressive soft tissue cancer. On the recommendation of her doctors, Diana started chemotherapy to get rid of any LMS cells that might still be in her body.
To add insult to illness, soon after her diagnosis Diana was laid off from her job as a seamstress.
While she is receiving cancer treatments from City of Hope Medical Center, her ability to find and perform freelance work is extremely limited. She struggles to pay for rent, utilities, food, and other living expenses.
Diana’s cancer journey has only begun. Her prognosis is good: the surgeon removed all the apparent cancer, and the chemotherapy treatments are expected to be successful.
Still, only some aspects of the treatment are covered, and costs add up quickly, including medications, scans, appointments, and so many unexpected expenses. Diana needs time to recover from her chemo and heal, without the stress of looking for full-time employment in this difficult time.
Diana would not ask for help herself, so I’ve started this fundraiser as a way to ease the financial burdens she faces for the next six months or more.
Please consider donating to help make this journey for Diana and her family a little easier. Thank you!
