Hi, I'm Diana. A lifelong involved voter, community volunteer, and all around kind person (well at least that's what people say, I think I can be grumpy).

I am thrilled to share that I have been elected as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention (DNC) by the voters in Washington's 3rd Congressional District! This opportunity is a lifelong dream come true. I decided as a small child I really wanted to see every part of the political process, all I'll have left on my list now is to be a member of the electoral college (some year soon!).

As a delegate, I am passionate about representing rural communities and advocating for women's rights across the United States. I believe that our voices are crucial in shaping the future of our nation, and I am committed to ensuring that they are heard loud and clear at the DNC in Chicago.

As a National Delegate, I am a volunteer, which means all expenses for travel, lodging, and food during the national convention fall on me. These costs are estimated at $5,500. For security reasons, all delegates must stay at the designated hotel, which costs $349 per night before taxes which adds up quite quickly! Over the past year, I have diligently saved up to cover the costs associated with attending the convention, from the moment I decided this was my year to run I started saving. Unfortunately, life threw me a couple of unexpected curveballs recently. I faced the heartbreak of losing my beloved cat, which resulted in high vet bills along with the ever present tears, and shortly after, I experienced a sudden job loss. A one-two punch of absolute suckitude.

This is where I need your help. I am reaching out to my community, friends, and all those who believe in the importance of diverse representation and grassroots activism. Your support will not only help me attend the convention but also ensure that rural voices and women's issues are front and center in the political discourse. Don't let me lose my dream and help me participate in the political process. This is a pretty essential election year for a lot of reasons and likely a once in a lifetime convention to attend and participate in.

Funds raised will be used:

$349 - Flights to and from Chicago

~$2500 - Required hotel from Sunday - Friday ($349 a night + taxes and a required daily resort fee)

Anything remaining will be used for the various meals, transport to and from the hotel, GoFundMe fees, etc. If I end up over my goal or needs I plan to contribute to any other delegate who also is fundraising.
