Support Diane and Debbie Roy in Keeping Their Home
Donation protected
Diane and Debbie Roy live in North Minneapolis, in a very modest house where they grew up with their mother and two brothers. They have lived there all their lives, since the early '60s. Since their mother died a few years ago, they have continued to live in the house. Diane is retired and Debbie is currently trying to find work. They have also, for years, worked on saving community and feral cats and getting them spayed and neutered. Their work with cats in an area of Minneapolis that has many homeless has been much appreciated.
Since their mother Audrey died intestate a few years ago, Diane and Debby were not aware of the process of getting the ownership of the house transferred to them and paying the taxes. For that reason, they are very delinquent in paying their taxes and face the prospect of losing their home. They are facing having to pay court costs and back taxes totaling over $9,600, plus due to their low income they will be unable to pay their taxes in total for the near future. We are hoping to get $15,000 to pay what they owe currently and provide a cushion for next year.
