Support Dianne Peele in Walter's Final Days
Donation protected
My name is Susan Startin. I am a close family friend of the Peele family. My son Dylan is the grandson of Walter and Dianne Peele, son of their son Jamie Peele, and nephew of their son Jabe Peele. This family, our family, has been through struggles with health, the loss of their son Jamie, their incredibly scary journey of kidney failure with a transplant for their son Jabe, and just life in general, as we all know can be hard enough. The Peele family has always come through their trials and tribulations with their faith first and foremost. God has heard their prayers and has seen their sorrow, and He has given them the strength to continue on each and every day.
I am putting this GoFundMe together for the patriarchs of the Peele family. On October 5th, Walter was admitted to the hospital with stage 4 kidney failure. An unbelievable diagnosis and a far too familiar one. How does this happen to this incredible family? There are so many questions with this diagnosis. How, what, when. There has to be, had to be, an underlying issue to cause stage 4 kidney failure. The same wonderful nephrologist team that oversaw Jabe with his kidneys and his journey are, in fact, the same team that handled Walter while he was hospitalized. Dialysis was not an option but a last resort because of the toll it takes on the body. Walter has been on this earth for 83 wonderful years, and to have to put him through a procedure that he watched his very own son go through was not something he wanted to do. But without all the tests back, there was no choice but to start dialysis to try and save his life with the hopes it would jump-start his kidneys into working properly. For his family, Walter endured 2 to 3 days of dialysis. He was in so much pain after each procedure, he decided and expressed his wishes with his wife and son that he just couldn't and didn't want to do it anymore. He was tired and wanted to go home. Home having more than one meaning. Walter was discharged from the hospital on Friday, the 11th of October, and sent home with hospice care.
Any money raised with this GoFundMe will go to Walter's wife Dianne so she can be with him and by his side in his end days with no worries about the money she is losing from not working. The money will go toward their rent, food for the home, and other household bills that have gone to the wayside while Walter was in the hospital and any bills for the coming future. If you can find it in your heart to make even the smallest donation to this beautiful and wonderful family that I have known and loved for 18 years, I would be eternally grateful to each and every one of you. With everything going on in the world today, a small piece of gratitude goes a long way. If you are unable to donate, please share this story.
