Support Diego's Legacy: Carpinteria Scholarship

Donation protected
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diego Lake Nieves. He was tragically struck down in a traffic accident on Wednesday, July 3, he passed away on July 4.
He grew up in Carpinteria with his grandparents, Sheryl Lake and Jim Tarantino.
He is a 2023 graduate of Carpinteria High School. He was currently attending Santa Barbara City College. He worked at Rori's Artisanal Creamery and the Laughing Buddha, where he worked all through high school.
Diego was known for his bright smile and willingness to help others. He loved playing baseball, the beach, his family and his friends, some of which he knew since kindergarten.
The family would like to establish a scholarship in his name for Carpinteria High School seniors. Hopefully this can be an ongoing memorial to this amazing young man. He was loved by so many and will be desperately missed.
