"I am Dima Naeem from the G@z@ Strip. I am 23 years old. I am married and have one child.
Today I decided to send you this message, in which I address your living consciences, your big hearts, and your humanity. I would like to share the tragedy and terrible conditions I have been living in since the beginning of the w@r of extermination and famine, which turned my beautiful life into ruins after my house was completely destroyed.
Dima's former house after it was bombed
I have suffered many losses: I lost many of my family and friends, I lost my job, I lost my home, and after my husband was injured, we lost our last source of income. I lost my unborn child in a miscarriage, and I now fear for the life of my living child who is experiencing the effects of malnutrition.
We have become helpless and homeless. We do not have even the most simple necessities for survival.
Since the beginning of the w@r, I have been displaced five times, and we constantly have to move our entire lives--which has become a tent full of despair, pain, and the sounds of crying--to "areas of safety" which don't actually exist anywhere in G@z@.
We made our 6th evacuation last week, and we were not able to take our tent with us. We are now sleeping on the side of the road next to a house made of rubble, and in addition to having no food, it is difficult to obtain clean and safe water.

All of us in G@z@ are now in a real famine. We no longer have the strength and or money to buy food to survive. We are in a constant fear and hunger.
I am addressing your consciences and ask you for your help in the midst of all this. In the darkness there is a glimmer of hope. With your help and generous donations, we can rise again with our souls and bodies and build our lives again from up under the rubble.
Every donation, no matter how small, will have a major impact in saving the life of my entire family. We ask for urgent help.
Please, we are here, dying. Don't leave us to die, don't leave us to fear, don't leave us to starve.
Dima with her husband and child

My name is Renn Simmons and I am a climate artist, mental health worker, and an organizer with a small mutual aid group called Portland Spiritual and Creative Integrity Collective based in Portland, Oregon. We are fundraising on behalf of Dima and her family, all of whom are in dire need of help.
We have been fundraising for several families in G@z@ that connected with us through our Instagram account or by family/friend referral, and have been rapidly expanding our endeavors to try to create fundraisers and community initiatives to help as many families as we are able to.

We have done our best to be as intentional, kind, and thoughtful in creating a verification process for the families we are connected to, which includes asking if someone has a form of identification, can send photos of themselves and/or have a video chat with us, and/or can be vouched for by another friend or family member of theirs. Dima connected with us through our WhatsApp account by a referral from another family we are supporting and we are in frequent contact with
Dima as she updates us on the wellbeing of her family.
Dima' s biggest needs and concerns are obtaining a tent for her family(tent prices are $450 and up per other families reports), money to buy clean water and fresh food, diapers for her child, soap(many people in G@z@ are suffering from rashes and skin diseases due to lack of soap and clean water), formula, and basic survival needs.
All resources in G@z@ are incredibly expensive. Here are some of the market prices right now per journalists in G@z@:
Combined in total, these expenses accumulate to around $2000 or more monthly for Dima's family, which means that we need 100 people a month to contribute $20 or 200 to contribute $10 a month. Please consider being a monthly contributor. We are working hard right now to finalize a this formulaic approach to fully funding families in G@z@, so please message us if you would like to a part of Dima's permanent funding group to get more information.
Our hope is to always try to connect families in G@z@ with as many other on-the-ground organizations as possible, but we are seeing more and more that getting aid from these groups is sometimes impossible and very dangerous in terms of traveling
to find these groups and actually connecting with these groups in the first place. While NGOs still offer some forms of aid on the group, many of them continue to have their aid compromised, stripped, halted, or destroyed before getting into G@z@, so the only actual guaranteed form of support right now is often direct donations.
Donating directly to Dima and her family is truly the only way right now we can ensure that their specific needs are being met and that they do not have to make dangerous trips to risk their lives beyond what they are already experiencing to search for aid groups.
Please consider donating what you can, sharing his story with your circle, and amplifying his fundraiser in order to support Dima and her family while they continue to fight to stay alive. No amount is too small to help.
Together we can give them some very small glimmer of hope in the darkest times imaginable.
All donations over $10 will receive a digital print from my website at rennsimmons.cargo.site. Just take a screenshot of your donation and message me here on GFM with the subject "Prints for Pal."
