Support Displaced Swimming Teachers Folkestone Sports Centre
Donation protected
We are a dedicated group of swimming teachers who have lost our jobs due to the abrupt closure of the Folkestone Sports Centre. Our passion for teaching and the love for our community has been the driving force behind our work. We are now reaching out to you for support to help us get back on our feet and continue serving our community in any way we can.
Swimming is more than just a job for us; it’s a calling. We’ve had the privilege of teaching swimming to children, adults, and individuals with disabilities. We’ve seen firsthand how swimming can boost confidence, improve physical health, and support mental well-being. For many of us, the pool is a place of joy and transformation, where we connect deeply with our students and their families.
The closure of the sports centre doesn’t just affect us—it affects the entire community. The pool was a vital resource for families, school children, disabled individuals, and those seeking mental health benefits. The local swimming club, which provided a positive outlet for many kids, is now without a home. The impact of this closure is far-reaching, touching countless lives.
We are still holding out hope that a larger company or the council will intervene to save our beloved sports centre. In the meantime, we need your help. Your donations will support the displaced swimming teachers dedicated to serving this community.
We have always been passionate about what we do, and we have poured our hearts into teaching swimming. We believe in the power of community and are hopeful that, with your support, we can overcome this difficult period. Any contribution, big or small, will make a significant difference in our lives.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
