Support Doğukan's Fight Against ICE Detention

Doğukan Günaydın, a 28-year-old Turkish citizen and MBA student at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management, was detained by ICE agents outside his St. Paul home on March 27, 2025, despite having lawful immigration status as an international student.

Doğukan has been held in ICE detention at Sherburne County Jail and still has not been given a clear explanation for his detention. 20 days and three immigration court hearings later, Doğukan still does not know the official charges that are brought against him. The Immigration Judge awarded Doğukan bond on Monday, April 14th, but ICE immediately appealed, forcing him to remain held at Sherburne.

Doğukan is a valued and active member of our Minnesota community. He graduated from St. Olaf College in 2021 and UWC Maastricht in 2016, institutions that reflect his commitment to academic excellence, cultural exchange, and global citizenship.
