On Sunday, June 25th, 2023, a short motorcycle ride a few miles from home turned into a heart-wrenching tragedy. Christian Tirado and Dominique Tirado were reveling in the joy of the open road on the way home from a lovely dinner in Patchogue when an unexpected collision changed their lives. Another driver made an illegal left turn, instantly killing Christian and leaving Dominique fighting for her own life.

For the last month, Dominique's strength has been nothing short of awe-inspiring. Despite enduring unimaginable loss, a medically-induced coma, life-threatening injuries across her body, and four major surgeries, she remains a beacon of resilience. Her spirit shines through as she faces every emotional and physical obstacle with unwavering determination. However, the road to recovery is a long and challenging one, as Dominique grapples with the aftermath of the accident that claimed the life of her husband and left her unable to walk.

As Dominique enters this challenging phase of rehabilitation, adjusting to life with a wheelchair and re-learning even the simplest tasks, we, her extended family and friends, are rallying together to ensure she receives the support she so deeply deserves and needs.
