Support Donald F. Glut in Overcoming Financial Loss

Some of you know me from my work; those that don’t, please check out my website: www.donaldfglut. I really didn’t want to launch this campaign, but, with bills rapidly coming in and money going out just as fast, I now see no alternative.

On February 27, 2025, I – very skeptical by nature, but this time naively believing extremely clever scam artists (details too long, complicated, and embarrassing to explain) – was a victim big-time of identity theft, resulting in my computer being hacked, all data wiped clean, and the theft of almost all the money in my Wells Fargo bank accounts. This includes savings & checking ($40,000) and, then having a zero balance, what was in a line of credit ($34,000). The scammers almost got another $8,000, which I caught and managed to stop in time. This means that in addition to what was taken, I now owe the bank what was withdrawn from my credit line.

I filed a report with the Burbank Police Department, and they directed me to the FBI, and I have been in communication with a BPD detective. The case is now in their hands. However, the chances of ever recovering any of this money are highly unlikely. Wells Fargo denied my request to at least erase the payback fees for the line of credit that was illegally withdrawn by the scammers, opining that something I unknowingly said or did during my communications with the scammers somehow gave them access to my online banking. As the police detective and my bank manager noted, the scam I fell for seems to be at least nationwide. In addition to all that, I had to have my computer repaired by Geek Squad, which added to my out-of-pocket expenses.

To recoup at least some of this loss I have had to resort to launching this campaign. If anyone can help, many, many thanks, as I can really use it!
