Support Donald Glasgow’s Double Transplant
Donation protected
As most of you know, our dad – Donald Glasgow, is one of the most genuine, hard-working guys there are. He has worked his entire life, never taking advantage of sick days, and only officially retiring when he ended up in an induced coma at just 62 years old, upon first falling ill. He is known to be a family man and has always been there for everyone in his life. He is an avid hunter and fisherman, but as his illnesses progress, he is finding it harder to get out and do the things he loves, especially to the capacity that he used to be able to.
Having never smoked a day in his life, and was never a drinker, he unfortunately was diagnosed with two life-threatening illnesses that have completely transformed our dad's health for the worst. He was first diagnosed with Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis, which causes Cirrhosis of the liver, and worsens over time. He additionally has Pulmonary Fibrosis, a terminal lung disease that causes scarring in the lungs. With all of this, he needs a double lung and liver transplant.
Our family is asking most importantly for prayers through this difficult journey! That God will heal our dad’s body and allow him to live on for many more years to come. That God will encourage our dad to have the physical and mental strength to endure a double lung and liver transplant, and to have hope that his body will accept the new organs and avoid infection. Fortunately God has answered our biggest prayer and Cleveland Clinic has officially accepted and added our dad to the transplant list for the double lung and liver transplant!
As this is a very big operation, he will be hospitalized for at least one month, but he has to be near the facility for at least an additional two months for close monitoring during his recovery. Our mom, LuAnn will be by his side for the entire procedure and recovery. But with Cleveland Clinic being over two hours from home, she (and our dad) will have to reside in Cleveland for at least 3 months. Their main expenses until medical expenses come in, are lodging, food, and gas. As this is a completely unfortunate but expensive necessity to get our father well again, this is not something that they had planned for financially, and will be a large set-back and hardship for them.
As we await to get the phone call (which on average can be any day now up to on average 6 months), we ask again, most importantly for your prayers! If you are able to give anything at all to support them financially, our parents would be less burdened and forever grateful! As a community our ask that we all come together in support of our dad, we love him so very much, and need him around for many more years to come!
Thank you all for your prayers and contributions – God Bless!
