Support Donna after the Passing of Roy Bamford

Dear family and friends, Donna Bamford (my aunt Donna) needs your help. As many of you know, her husband, Roy Bamford (my Uncle Roy) passed away last Sunday, January 8th after a 5 year battle with Cancer and most recently 2 months at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Uncle Roy always did his absolute best to take such good care of Donna and Nicole regardless of what he was going through. This included taking out his own (non-company sponsored) $500,000 life insurance plan for his family in the event of his passing. Unfortunately, a few months ago Uncle Roy’s life insurance plan was denied for renewal given his aggressive illness. This leaves Aunt Donna to cover the medical bills, funeral expenses, a mortgage, and continued house maintenance, on her own. Life Insurance usually comes as a saving grace in times like this but unfortunately, that is not the case here.
Because of this, Aunt Donna & Nicole are left with a lot of expenses in his absence. Because my Uncle Roy did not have a corporate job, a lot of his time spent in the hospital, receiving medical outpatient care, or days that he just couldn’t get out of bed went unpaid. Leaving the household with partial salary for years. Amidst the unpaid days, also came tremendous amounts of medical bills (not covered by insurance) as he fought again and again against this illness.
Uncle Roy would never ask for help in this way, but given how much he cared for Aunt Donna, I know he would be okay with me sending out a message for just a little bit of help. Please give what you can if you are able to, in order to help a great man support his wife after he is gone. This is what he cared for most. If you would like to know more about Uncle Roy, read the paragraphs below. Thank you for your time and support.
Uncle Roy was always someone who worked really hard to provide for his family, he put Nicole & Aunt Donna before himself, always. From working as an electrician by day, side work at night and yard work on the weekends- this man was always on
the go. And this was true up until the very end. For the last few years of his life as he fought some incredibly aggressive series of cancer (3 different times), and it never stopped him. He never laid in bed and felt bad for himself. Most times, he
would even go and get his chemo treatment done in the morning (as if it were just a regular doctors appt) and then leave and go to work immediately after. He was determined to make it work and provide for his family.
He fought like hell for almost 5 years against this terrible illness. And he rarely let it affect his mood, for a long time, people did not even know he was sick because he would try to keep it hidden as to not get sympathy or for people to treat him any different. He did everything he could to keep going for them and help others along the way. After his passing, we learned of many acts of kindness for others, always done in the background without a lot of attention drawn to it.
He never wanted anything in return. He was truly an amazing husband, father, friend, uncle and an inspiring person to anyone who met him. There are no words to express how much he will be missed.
