On February 12, 2019 at 11:07 p.m., The Lincoln County Fire Protection District responded to a 2 alarm mobile home fire in Moscow Mills. While responding, the 911 center stated there was one person trapped in the house.
Moscow Mills Police arrived on scene first and attempted to rescue the trapped occupant but were unsuccessful due to heavy smoke conditions.
When firefighters arrived, they found heavy fire coming from the house and were told there was one person was still inside.
Firefighters made entry through a bedroom window to attempt to rescue the trapped occupant. Once firefighters were inside, they were forced to jump from the window due to heavy fire conditions and were unable to locate the victim. Once firefighters extinguished the fire, they located a deceased adult male inside the home.
