Support Donna’s Battle

In January 2012, my mother, Donna Fowler was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. A few weeks later, she had to have a double mastectomy with 15 lymph nodes removed and went through many treatments.
Four years later her cancer came back as stage 4 spreading into her chest wall, liver and lungs. After many doctor appointments, CT/ PET scans the chemo treatments continued with very little success continuing to spread.

As of March 2019 the doctors called Donna and the family in to talk with us about her current scan and status which was that she could start a different chemo or if she chose not to she would have time limit of 6 months. She chose to start the new chemo, but as of today her tumor markers continue to go higher and the doctor now recommends her to start another chemo.

As you can imagine throughout this journey her financial situation has been tough with the continued treatments for the past 7 years. She and her husband have tried to continue running their hay farm they have had over 20 years now.

Donna has already been through more than enough with medical bills and heartache prior to her cancer. In 1996 their first son Jared was born with a very rare blood disorder which caused many complications/surgeries/blood transfusions/therapists/specialists etc and had to be air lifted to another hospital. Then in 1998 their second son Jacob was also born with the same blood disorder being also very critical and had to be transported to another hospital that could accommodate his lungs hemorrhaging. Doctors gave both boys no hope yet both survived until March 17th of 2005 Jacob being 7 years old passed away in the middle of the night. Our lives changed forever.

Despite all the trials and tribulations in her life, Donna has kept her unbreakable faith in God. She is a hard working, outstanding mother who is fully trusting God’s plan during this time and continues to amaze our friends and family with her strength and everlasting smile.
