On 02/02/2025 - Sunday evening, Donnie Keller was in a serious motorcycle accident, but thanks to quick-acting EMTs he was stabilized at the scene then life-flighted to the hospital in Winston Salem. Thanks to his full-face helmet, he avoided any brain injuries but his other injuries are severe. Donnie has already undergone two major surgeries to repair a broken pelvis and hip socket. Due to his injuries, Donnie’s leg was amputated above the knee, but his strength and determination are already shining through. As of Tuesday, 02/05, he is off the ventilator, awake, and talking—a huge step forward in his recovery.
If you know Donnie, you know he’s not one to back down from a challenge. For almost 20 years, he has been a dedicated electrician at Preferred Electric, always taking pride in his work. But beyond that, his true passion is music. Donnie had a natural ability to master any stringed instrument he picked up, but his true passion was the guitar. He shared his musical talents with his church family at Calahaln Friendship Baptist and his loved ones.
More than anything, Donnie is a devoted husband to Stephanie and the best dog dad to their two pups, Bucky and Polly. He has a way of making people laugh, lifting spirits, and reminding everyone around him what it means to live with faith, kindness, and resilience.
Now, as Donnie begins this next chapter, he’s facing it with the same strength and determination that define him. There’s a long road ahead, but if anyone can take it on, it’s him. Please keep Donnie and Stephanie in your thoughts as he continues to heal.
Your love and support mean the world—thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
