Support Doug Clifford and his family after Hurricane Helene

Donation protected
Doug Clifford is a veteran Tampa Bay Times photojournalist who has covered many hurricanes and the damage they’ve left across Florida.

He was out in the field again, reporting on Hurricane Helene, when he checked his home cameras and saw storm surge pushing into his own property in Crystal Beach.

Doug rushed back to clean up and be with his wife and three kids. The flood reached several inches in their house, and a couple feet in their garage.

They lost tools, appliances, a car. Photos, keepsakes, furniture.

The damage so far is well in excess of $30,000.

Doug has always thought it’s essential work to show the impact of hurricanes and to highlight the people trying to recover after a direct hit. He has seen how sharing a story can help rally needed support.

Now, his friends and colleagues want to chip in to help Doug and his family as much as we can.

Thank you so much.
