Help Our Dad, Eric Hite, Ed.D Recover from Heart Surgery

You may know our father as Pastor Hite, who started a church in Jackson and preached around the country.

You may know him as Brother Hite, the faithful servant of God who hosted youth and marriage conferences.

You may know him as Coach Hite, Teacher, Varsity Boys Basketball Coach, and Track Coach for Boys and Girls teams.

You may know him as Dr. Hite, State and Nationally-recognized fun-loving school, community investment, Computer, and Business education teacher.

He’s just our awesome, loving dad.

He has dedicated his life to sharing the Gospel, being a supportive role model, helping his students and others spiritually, academically, athletically, maritally, and selflessly.

And now he needs your help.

On December 23, 2024, Our mom rushed Dad to St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS, after he experienced sharp chest, back, and stomach pains. The diagnosis was terrifying: the aortic arteries in his heart were leaking. Doctors told us he had just three days to live.

He was emergency airlifted by helicopter to the University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, where a skilled team of Doctors performed an eight-hour, life-saving surgery.

By the grace of God and the expertise of his medical team, our dad survived. He was discharged on January 4, 2025, but his journey is far from over.

Our dad now faces an incredible mountain of financial obligations. He lost his job and insurance in November, and mom is now the only source of income for the family. They are trusting in the Lord to provide for all their expenses on a fourth of what they previously made.

The helicopter transport, surgery, hospital stay, home healthcare, physical and occupational therapy, and the numerous medications required to sustain his recovery have placed an enormous financial burden on our family, especially with two of our siblings still in college.

His life’s mission is to serve, give, teach, uplift others, and share the Gospel and life advice with anyone willing to listen. We want to ensure that he can continue to do so without the overwhelming weight of financial stress during his recovery.
