Support Dr. Ismail Journey

Hello everyone,

It brings me great joy to connect with you and share a brief chapter of my journey.

I hope this message finds you well and in good spirits.

I am Dr. Ismail Hisham Qwaider, a proud Palestinian physician and a graduate of the Islamic University of Gaza, where I earned my degree with distinction. Equipped with my Palestinian medical license, I have been devoted to serving my community, offering care and compassion amidst extraordinary challenges.

Since completing my studies, I have volunteered at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza, dedicating myself to various departments, with a particular focus on the emergency department.

During both times of peace and conflict, my team and I have worked tirelessly to care for patients and the injured, often without financial compensation. Our mission was driven by an unwavering commitment to providing life-saving treatments and essential medications to those in need.

From May 2024 to the present, I have been volunteering in the emergency department of Al-Awda Hospital in the central region, which provides medical services to the northern part of the central governorate. Since the onset of the war, I have handled all types of injuries resulting from explosions, shrapnel, live bullets, and burns. I have worked tirelessly and with unwavering dedication to save hundreds of injured individuals from all age groups.

Throughout this time, I have extended my care to patients across all age groups and circumstances, including young children, women, the elderly, and those with chronic conditions.

My volunteering has not been limited to hospitals; I turned our small home into a medical station to receive patients and provide them with care and first aid. With the help of my brother, Dr. Mohammad, and my brother, Nurse Khaled, we have been tirelessly offering what we can. To this day, we continue our efforts despite the shortage of medical tools and equipment.

Amid these challenges, I hold onto a dream that drives me forward: joining a surgical training program in Germany. Achieving this goal requires overcoming numerous rigorous steps, including language proficiency exams, credential equivalency for my medical degree, and acquiring essential certifications and training.

In August 2023, I began learning the German language at the Rashad Al-Shawa Center, a well-known training facility in Gaza. I was close to completing the first level (A1), but the recent events tragically disrupted my progress, as the center was completely destroyed due to intense bombing.

Your unwavering support is a beacon of encouragement, inspiring me to continue my work and pursue this dream of enhancing my skills to serve more effectively.
