Support Dr Rizwan's family

In the name of Allah, the Kind, The Caring

Yesterday, we were all shocked by the news of the much-loved Dr Rizwan Irshad passing away at the young age of 42.

A man in good health and fitness, he died unexpectedly but peacefully on Friday morning. To Allah we belong, and to Allah we return. He leaves behind his wife and two young children, who are now a widow and orphans (in the Islamic sense of the word).

He was loved by everyone who knew him, as the crowds at his funeral today testified. He was a devoted family man, an active member of the Purley Mosque Community for nearly a decade, and a respected doctor in General Practice. He touched so many people's lives.

He has moved on to the next stage of life's journey and we pray that he is granted forgiveness and the best reward in the next life. For those left behind, let us do our communal duty to his bereaved family. Supporting a widow and orphans is one of the best actions in Islam, so when these tragic opportunities come along in our lives, we must do our bit.

All funds will be transferred to his wife as the sole beneficiary, for her to decide how best to use them for her and the children's needs. Please give generously.
